Chinese Menu Comedy

Why "Chinese Menu"?
Because of the nature of the casting has been sort of random (no teams/troupes), the players were not always aware who would be playing with them when they arrived. Early in the (then nameless) shows history a player (we think it was Katie Klein) asked, "Who is on the Menu tonight?" We liked the way it sounded and when we looked backstage at our de facto home of the DC Arts Center there happened to be a Menu for a Chinese restaraunt sitting there. It felt like the universe was talking to us.
Chinese Menu provides an opportunity for improvisors and comedians from all over to come together and play. The shows have featured over 150 performers from DC and beyond. If you are an improvisor headed to DC, let us know so we can get you on stage and maybe even schedule some workshops for you to teach. Over 100 people from WIT, UCB, IO, PHIT, B.I.G., Magnet and other theaters have come through and played. Some Menu Alumni from other theaters include but are not limited to: Will Hines (UCB), Anthony Atamanuik (UCB), Alex Berg (UCB) Katie Klein (Second City) Ari Voukydis (UCB), Tim Martin (UCB), Mary Catherine Curran (IO), Josh Simpson (UCB) Alan Starzinski (UCB), Kristen Schier (PHIT), Megan Johns (Annoyance), Amey Goerlich (UCB) Amie Roe (PHIT), Mark Ratterman of Cook County Social Club, Terry Withers (UCB), Stephanie Anderson (Second City), John Timothy (UCB), Tyler Davis (Second City), Eddie Dunn (UCB), Ryan Karels (UCB), Ben Rameaka (UCB), Sayjal Joshi (Second City), Jake Jabbour (UCB)

If you like stand up. Erin Jackson, Seaton Smith, Danny Rhouier, Rob Maher, John Conroy and David Tveite are just some of the comics who have performed at Menu shows.
The shows rock. Come and see.
